Messaging Terms & Conditions

You agree to receive informational messages, such as appointment reminders and account notifications, from Chorus Music. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. For help, reply HELP or email us at customerservice@chorusmusic.ca . You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.

Registration

Students must be registered for programs and events through the school’s portal.

Tuition

Tuition is payable in advance on an annual, bi-annual, or monthly basis. Customers paying on a monthly basis will be required to add a credit card number to their My Music Staff account (online portal). Monthly payments will be charged via PayPal at the end of each month for the following four weeks of lessons.

It is your responsibility to promptly update your account information in the event of any changes, including your address, contact information, and credit card details. Payment must be received in advance to secure and retain a weekly lesson spot.

Discontinuing Lessons

We require a minimum of two weeks’ advance notice when discontinuing lessons. There is no refund for the current month of lessons if notice is received after the monthly payment has been processed. There is no refund for unused make-up lessons.

Cancellation and Make-Up Lesson Policy for Private Lessons

Our make-up lesson policy has been designed to ensure that students and staff do not lose scheduled lessons or work hours due to cancellations. Resources are planned in advance based on students’ weekly schedules; therefore, making up last-minute cancellations is not possible.

• Cancellations that will be made up: Up to four lessons cancelled by 7:00 p.m. the night before the scheduled lesson will be made up during each academic year.
• Make-up lessons must be completed by the end of July. There is no refund or carryover of unused make-up lessons into the next academic year.
• Cancellations that will not be made up: Same-day cancellations and no-shows.
• Weather-related closures: In the case of inclement weather, we will send an email and update our voicemail and Instagram by 1:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays. Lessons may be conducted online or rescheduled to another day.

Group Lessons

We reserve the right to postpone the start date or cancel group classes due to insufficient enrollment. Students may have the option to move to another group class based on availability. Missed lessons will not be made up, as the class must continue without the absent student. An additional lesson may be scheduled during the year to allow students to make up missed time where possible.

Online Lesson Policy

• Parent Supervision: Parents/guardians MUST supervise a minor student for the entire duration of the class.
• Online Platform: Zoom or Google Meet. Upon registration, a link with the required login information will be emailed to each student.
• Equipment: Students will need a device such as a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet with audio/video connectivity and a strong Wi-Fi connection.
• Program Space: Students should have a presentable backdrop in a well-lit and quiet area.
• Dress Code: Students are required to wear attire deemed appropriate in the public school system.
• Timeliness: Students are requested to connect on time for their scheduled lessons.
• Conduct: Students are expected to behave responsibly during lessons. Consistently disruptive behaviour may negatively affect learning and progress.
• Sharing Contact Details: You authorize us to provide your personal information, such as your phone number and email address, to our teachers for the purpose of conducting virtual lessons.
• Quality Assurance: We strive to maintain excellence in the quality of our lessons. To ensure online lessons are conducted in accordance with school guidelines, school administration may occasionally request to join an online session.

Instructor Unavailability

In the event that an instructor cancels, another qualified instructor may teach the lesson online or in class. If a suitable instructor is unavailable, the lesson will be rescheduled. We do not call students individually to inform them when their regular teacher is absent.

Examinations / Competitions / Auditions

Every effort is made to fully prepare students for examinations, competitions, and auditions. However, we cannot control the results students achieve. Students and parents are encouraged to fully understand the requirements and expectations with their instructor, school administrator, and/or the organizers of competitions and auditions.

Additional Costs

Books, examinations, accessories, rentals, and event tickets are additional costs and are not included in tuition.

Internet Use

Complimentary Wi-Fi, if available, is for personal and legal use only.

Health and Safety

• We do not allow foods containing NUTS, FISH, or SHELLFISH in our facility. However, we are unable to monitor all allergens that may be brought into the school. Parents are asked to remain with their child(ren) if they have concerns regarding allergies or other health conditions.
• All students are required to wear clean, dry indoor shoes or socks to class during the winter months.
• Students are asked not to bring valuables unrelated to their lessons to class. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
• Drum students are strongly encouraged to bring sound-reducing headphones or earbuds to every class.

Parking

Parking is available around the building, excluding reserved spaces that are not available for our use.

Liability Waiver

Parents/guardians are responsible for the well-being and safety of their children at all times. This includes the drop-off and pick-up of their children on the premises and at off-site events hosted or sponsored by Chorus Music.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to join students in their respective classes during lessons or wait in the reception area. Chorus Music Academy Inc., including its directors, officers, employees, and agents, shall not be liable for any injury, illness, allergic reaction, accident, death, loss, theft, damage, or any other harm whatsoever that may be sustained by a student, parent, guardian, or guest at our facility or at an off-site event hosted or sponsored by Chorus.

You waive any claims, demands, and liabilities against Chorus arising from participation in Chorus programs, events, or activities, including participation by you and/or your child(ren) and guests.

Photo and Video Release Policy

By registering with Chorus, you grant Chorus permission to take photographs and audio/video recordings of you and/or your child(ren)’s participation (“Content”) in Chorus programs, events, and activities.

You also grant Chorus permission to use, reuse, modify, publish, and republish the Content in any format or media, including print and online, for promotional purposes. Chorus may use the Content without compensation to you, your children, or your guests.

You waive any rights to prior inspection or approval of the Content and its use, as well as any claims, demands, or liabilities against Chorus arising from capturing or using the Content. To opt out of this term, please email customerservice@chorusmusic.ca .

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises out of or in connection with the terms and policies of this document, the parties agree to meet and pursue a resolution through negotiation, mediation, or another appropriate dispute-resolution process before resorting to litigation.

Governed by the Laws of Ontario

This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior representations, understandings, or agreements between them, whether written or oral, respecting the subject matter herein.

This agreement may be amended only in writing, shall be read without regard to section headings, and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ontario.

Duration

The terms and policies contained in this document remain valid until replaced by a new registration form or updated terms and policies.

Policy Agreement

I certify that I am an adult student or the parent/guardian of the student(s) I am registering. I agree to receive email information about Chorus programs and services. I may withdraw my consent to receive promotional emails at any time.

I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to adhere to Chorus Music Academy Inc.’s Terms & Policies contained in this document.
