At Chorus Music, our expert instructors tailor lessons to suit every student's goals and interests. For those pursuing classical training, we proudly follow the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum, guiding students through structured learning that builds technique, musicality, and performance skills. We also provide comprehensive preparation for RCM examinations, ensuring students are confidently equipped for success. With personalized instruction, students can develop their unique musical voice while gaining the foundational skills to thrive in any genre. Whether you're a beginner or advancing your piano journey, Chorus Music is the perfect place to nurture your passion for music.
At Chorus Music Academy, our guitar lessons are designed to inspire and develop musicians across all skill levels. Whether you're learning classical, acoustic or electric, our university-trained instructors bring years of expertise to every lesson. For classical guitarists, we offer a focused curriculum following the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), building technical proficiency, musical expression, performance and exam readiness. Students can also explore a contemporary stream, mastering acoustic or electric guitar, with lessons tailored to rock, pop, jazz, and beyond. With personalized guidance from experienced musicians, students at Chorus Music Academy are equipped to excel in their chosen style while gaining a well-rounded musical education.
At Chorus Music Academy, our vocal lessons offer a comprehensive approach to both classical and contemporary voice training. For classical vocalists, we follow the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum, focusing on proper diction, singing in multiple languages, and developing the technique needed to excel in RCM exams and festival performances. Contemporary vocal students enjoy a range of opportunities, learning modern vocal techniques while performing their favorite songs and building musicianship across genres. At Chorus Music, we go beyond the classroom, offering unique performance opportunities as well as access to professional recording, songwriting, and production services. Whether you're pursuing classical excellence or contemporary artistry, our expert instructors are here to guide you on your vocal journey.
At Chorus Music Academy, we take pride in offering top-tier drum lessons as Vaughan’s Authorized Yamaha Music Education Centre. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in everything, from our carefully designed, sound-proofed drum room to the expertise of our instructors. Unlike many schools, we provide acoustic drum sets for our students, allowing them to experience the full power and dynamics of drumming. With a dedicated teacher playing alongside them, students learn everything from proper sticking technique and rudiments to mastering beats and fills. They also gain crucial skills in staying in sync with a metronome or backing track, while exploring a wide range of genres, including rock, pop, jazz, blues, hip-hop, R&B, and more. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced drummer, our lessons provide the perfect blend of technique, creativity, and hands-on experience.
We believe in the importance of performance in music education. When compared to sports, lessons are similar to attending a practice/training session, while performing is like playing a real game! It's important to experience both aspects for well-rounded musical development. Our students regularly participate in Chorus Music open mics and concerts, providing valuable performance experience while helping students boost self-confidence. They also perform at several classical and contemporary music festivals throughout the year, including the North York Music Festival and the CNE Rising Star Competition. And it doesn't stop there. When you're ready to go pro, advanced students, instructors and artists are provided with even more performance opportunities alongside Creative Director Neel Dani. Past performances include Woodbridge Fall Fair, Vaughan Film Festival, Stackt Market, Toronto Diversity Festival and more.
At Chorus Music, we are committed to revitalizing music education in Vaughan and beyond. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced student, we have programs to meet your needs.
We offer private music lessons for a variety of instruments, including piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, drums, and more. We also provide music theory, music production, and songwriting lessons along with group singing and band lessons.
Choosing the correct skill level is essential for making the most of your lessons. If you're just beginning, or if you've only had a few lessons, our Beginner level is the perfect place to start. If you have some experience and are comfortable with the basics, our Intermediate level will help you build on your existing skills. For those who are proficient and looking to refine their technique or prepare for advanced performances, our Advanced level is ideal. If you're unsure, we're happy to provide guidance during an initial consultation.
Each lesson is designed to be engaging and productive, typically starting with a warm-up and review of previous material. We then focus on new concepts, techniques, or pieces, followed by practice exercises to reinforce learning. Depending on your goals, we might also incorporate music theory, ear training, or improvisation. Every lesson is personalized to fit your progress and interests.
While having your own instrument is highly recommended for practice between lessons, it's not always necessary to start. We can provide advice on purchasing or renting an instrument that suits your needs and budget. For certain instruments, we may have them available for use during your lesson, but having your own will ensure consistent progress.
Consistency is key to making progress in music. We recommend weekly lessons, as they provide a steady structure for learning and practice. However, we also offer flexible scheduling options, including bi-weekly lessons, to accommodate your personal needs and availability. We can discuss what frequency will work best for you during your initial consultation.
